The Lucknow Botanical Gardens: Two years ago the aeriel rootsseen in this pic were enclosed in hollow bamboo to help themtake root, undisturbed by people walking past. A tree whose branches spreads so wide, needs not only more moistureand nutrients from the ground but added support! Sadly, the banyans in the Residency haven't had the same attention so are gradually dying. A new railway bridge at Dilkusha, Lucknow was constructed several years ago but for anunknown reason was never commissioned. The railwaytrack was laid but not connected to the main line headingeast to Barabanki and beyond. Passingover this flyover I noticed a crowd, somewearing yellow hardhats, so can safelypresume work the new bridgewill be commissioned in the near future!

A dairy farm built towards the end of the 1800's at La Martiniere College, Lucknow had
become living quarters for washermen and others many decades ago. The plan now is to turn it into a fully automated laundry for the students of the college. The swimming pool, also constructed at the end of the 1800's is also being modernized.
