The far side of the lake is being buttressed the same way as the bund, something that should have been done long ago. Anyhow, better late than never! If I'm seeing it right, with the monsoon on now, maybe we will see the Lat surrounded with water even after the river recedes.

George. Some weeks ago an fb friend related how the beauty of the lake was being ruined by mayawati's project to make the area a lush park / garden.
Actually, if we throw sentiments aside I think the place would become more beautiful and even a nice place to move about and picnic etc. Sometimes sentiments can be regressive so I think we should look forward to a nice place our grandchildren could relate to closer and better...
